The Soul Nebula, or IC 1848, is 6,500 light years from Earth and is located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is right next to the Heart Nebula and is commonly photographed together. The pillars within the soul nebula are all forming stars at their tips. The cavity within the nebula occurs because the forming stars are causing cosmic wind and ultraviolet light.
